Patricia Mateo has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Artium drawing award. Her work is in the permanent collections of the MAC Museum Collection, Malaga, the Nieves Barber Collection, Lisbon, the Collection Maria de Alvear, Madrid, as well as the Manuel Expósito Collection and many others. She has exhibited at the Museo del Carmen in Valencia, in Can Gelabert (Mallorca), Museum MAC Florencio de la Fuente (Cuenca) and the ABC Museum (Madrid). Fascinated by the work of the artists of the Flemish Renaissance, Mateo takes their visual language and imbues it with a distinctive modern vocabulary. Playful and suggestive, the works cause us to reflect on how the ideals and beliefs of humankind have changed and altered over time.
